House music veteran, Ray Coker, has been playing deep and soulful house music for over 20 years. Before being based in Europe, He was one of the original house residence at Florida's infamous Simons / Soulhouse / Plasma Lounge with an 11-year residency, where people came from all over the state to experience the soulful house vibes.He was also involved in many of the major music festivals and music conferences, which are held in Florida. Some of his early influences came from playing dance classics such as Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, MFSB, Zapp, Teena Marie, Patti Labelle, GQ, SOS Band, and Musique.For over five years, Ray Coker was behind the international night Soulmovement which focused on deep and soulful house music. Some of the artists over the years include: Marshall Jefferson, Bobby & Steve, Robert Owens, Klubb Ra, Craig Bartlett, Jask, Neil Pierce, Ron Carroll, Chrissy T, Roy Davis Jr, CeCe Rogers, DJ Spen, Soulmovement live, Audiowhores, Rasmus Faber, Mr.Mike, Gene Farris and many more who made the trip to come experience the dedicated crowd.He has played alongside many of the house music greats; DJs such as Tony Humphries, King Britt, Louie Vega, Tedd Patterson, Roy Davis Jr, Deep Dish, Murk Boys, Benji Canderalio, Ashley Beedle, Brian Tappert, Marques Wyatt, Bobby & Steve, Doc Martin, Dj Disciple, and Pete Heller, just to name a few. He has been recognized by his peers for his ability to create an uplifting journey to the people on the dance floor.Ray has worked on numerous productions with artists and producers such as Roy Davis Jr, Due, Zinnah, Dhalia, Terry Dexter, Dennis Jr, Saint A, Paul Weller, Baron Faty and Jask. His latest remix, my nation in collaboration with Roy Davis Jr and Terry Dexter is available on Mile End Records.Ray Coker's DJ style can be described as playing music that comes straight from the heart & soul.To him, house music is a way of life.
